Competitive Sailing
The 2010 racing program provides local club races, regional regattas and US Sailing Junior Olympics. Our new Sailing school/regatta format, race clinics and experienced staff will assure that each sailor is prepared for their next step of competitive sailing.
The experience starts in Muskegon where our staff will get you on the course and around the buoys - Where you go from there becomes an individual passion.
2010 Racing Highlights:
- Club Races - Saturday morning opti and Butterfly races sailing out of Muskegon Yacht Club. Season trophies are presented at the annual awards banquet in the fall. Top Butterfly performers on any given Saturday will be allowed to race one of the Lasers in the Tuesday night Laser races with advance notice.
- 9:00 a.m. - Equipment Handouts
- 9:20 a.m. - Skippers Meeting
- 10:00 a.m. - Start
- WMYSA Regattas - Sailing school students and race team members are allowed to attend. This is our first year on this format. Parent assistance will be required to handle logistics etc. Awards will be presented at the event.
- Open Regattas - Regattas ranging from the MYC Above the Crowd regatta to participation at the 2010 Orange Bowl International.
Notes:
- Fee is $60 - See Registration Form
- Fee covers racing administration, boat use and on the water coaching.
- Registration fees for Butterfly Nationals and WMYA are not included. Coach will be on site.
- Parents will be required for assisting in transportation of team and equipment.
